    Elt

Anybody ever have an ELT just decide to start activating in cruise? No impact or anything, just kicked off, was reset, and kicked off again. A&P looked and it appears everything is working fine. I'm test flying again today to check. Kinda funny, didn't realize the Air Force Rescue Center actually calls you to check you are OK. At least I know the system works!

It happened to me one time in my old Lancair, never figured out what activated it, but I got that same phone call from the AF (out of FL I think) and they called the backup contact as well because I was still in the air and not able to receive the call. I did find it odd that I was at FL270 doing 300 KTAS plus tailwind and they were questioning if there had been a crash, while the ELT was doing 350 kts still over the ground. I'd rather they called than not called I guess, though.
