    Electronic Attitude Indicator Manual

While researching the Voltage Indicator in another post, I came across a reference in the POH to Publication 1404 for the KMC 2000-2 digital attitude indicator. I didn't find it the manufacturers website, so they emailed it to me.

Don't recall if I ever saw this manual before? Not that it is a complicated instrument!

That’s interesting they gave it to you very cool it was always an internal document as the instrument was customized by ICON (added the logo, added compass, flipped the unit over so the buttons are on the bottom). Kelly MFG has never to my knowledge produced an AI and magnetometer for anyone else.

Great find… the POH references it and no amount of web searches or searches on the manufacturer’s website yielded results.

Does Anyone think (for those of us with 796’s) that KMC would sell us a software update to get engine data on a new screen view?

I don't think it has any wiring provisions or capability to access the CANbus from the Rotax ECU. Would have to be a new instrument.

Great find indeed. Did you see we can recalibrate it, not that I have ever needed to, but good to know that's there if needed.

Is there a Bluetooth widget that plugs into the CANbus to display data on the iPad?

The calibration procedure has been in the maintenance manual for many years. They are calibrated during production flight test and when needed. Easy to do.

Finally you have to dig in to the wiring harness and splice off the CAN bus lines to feed it data. Sorry to be Debby downer here but CAN is powerful but you really need to know what you're doing.

This project was for a straight 912 not the iS. The CAN bus he was using was just from the EMS reading all the sensors not from the Rotax ECU CAN output.

Seems like we need to wait for a nice ready to go (912is) widget that can communicate with an iPad.
